Neurological rehabilitation is aimed at enabling you to function as independently as possible in your own environment. In doing so, use is made of your own qualities and the possibilities of the surroundings. Rehabilitation after a stroke, NAH, CVA, cerebral haemorrhage or cerebral infarction
CVA is the medical term for a stroke. It literally means ‘Cerebral Vascular Accident’: an accident in the blood vessels of the brain. One speaks of NAH (Non-congenital Brain Injury) when damage to the brain occurs later in life as a result of traumatic brain injury or non-traumatic brain damage. In a brain infarct, damage to brain tissue occurs as a result of the closure of a blood vessel (85%) or as a result of bleeding (15%).
After a stroke, you lose some of your independence. To regain it, you must relearn how to exercise your balance, coordination, muscle strength, standing and walking. Your ADL (Activities of Daily Living), memory and concentration should also be re-trained.

We create tailor-made treatment programmes. These programmes are in accordance with the Dutch guidelines for rehabilitation medicine. However, we can offer more hours of individual rehabilitation than would be provided by a rehabilitation centre in your own country, at the same rates.
We ensure that your rehabilitation is carried out in the best possible way and in a pleasant atmosphere. This with the necessary care and therapy. After the rehabilitation period, 80% of our patients are able to live independently again.
Rehabilitation in Parkinson’s disease, MS, ALS and myopathy
In conditions such as: Parkinson’s, MS (multiple sclerosis), ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) and myopathy, the motor functions slowly deteriorate. The medical treatment tries to slow down the progression of the disease as much as possible. Rehabilitation is aimed at maintaining the highest possible quality of life by: activating existing physical capabilities, preventing falls, preventing joint stiffness and muscle shortening, pain control, adapting the lifestyle to the motor limitations and providing adequate aids to continue functioning independently for as long as possible. The therapists’ treatments are carried out in close consultation with our neurologist, neuropsychologist, neurosurgeon, cardiologist, orthopaedist and rehabilitation specialist.
Recovery after peripheral nerve disorders
The damage to the peripheral nerves manifests itself in, among other things: loss of sensation, loss of strength, paralysis and walking disorders. Naturally, this will limit your independence. After diagnosis and referral by your attending physician, the rehabilitation specialist will propose an appropriate multidisciplinary rehabilitation programme including: physiotherapy, electroacupuncture, neuromodulation therapy, exercise training and occupational therapy. The orthopaedic technician will provide you with any aids you may need.
